Mrs. Golda M. Haxton, 60, died at midnight Friday at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient six days suffering with a heart ailment. Born in Fountain County, Sept 9, 1885, she was the daughter of William and Mary Wade Hatton. She spent most of her life in Wingate vicinity, but lived in Mellott the past five years. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in WIngate and Order of Eastern Star of Wingate and the American Legion Auxiliary of Hillsboro. Surviving besides the husband are one sister, Ina Page of Mellott, two brothers, Orin S. Hatton of Covington and Russell O. Hatton of Rensselaer, Ind, one niece and two nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Congregational Church in Wingate with Rev. Mrs. Duncan pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. -- kbz
